Toy Bracelet Recalled after Causing Lacerations

Toysmith, the manufacturer of kids' "snap" bracelets recently announced a recall of the toys. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission officially announced the recall with the full voluntary cooperation of the toy manufacturer. Nearly 90,000 units have been recalled which have been sold or were sent out to retailers. The bracelets contain a metal band which curls into a bracelet when slapped on the wrist. The metal strips are covered by colorfully patterned metallic fabrics and have an animal figurine attached to each one. There were eight reports of injuries to children which prompted the recall. The metal band can wear through the fabric which then results in a sharp edge being exposed. The exposed metal can cause cuts and abrasions to the wrist or other areas while the child is playing with it.
