Although it is just a few days into the New Year, there has already been one highway death in California. State troopers were saddened to learn about the death of an older man in a motorcycle accident.
Initial reports show that the 56-year-old victim was riding his motorcycle on a transition road next to a major highway. He was heading north when he lost control of his bike. He crossed over the center divider and went head-first into oncoming traffic. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Police are still investigating the accident to determine cause and his body will be examined by the state coroner this week.
