Child in Serious COndition Following Bicycle Accident

A child out for a simple ride on his bicycle was struck by a car and is now in serious condition. The bike accident occurred on Sunday at 1:30 in the intersection of State Road 20 and Defuniak Road in Walton County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. 

The boy was riding northbound on Defuniak Road when he pulled out in front of a Toyota Corolla. The front side of the Corolla struck the left side of the bicycle, causing the bike and the boy to be thrown onto the hood of the car.

At this time the 12-year-old remains in serious condition at the Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola.
