Grocery Store Named as Defendant in Slip and Fall Suit

A grocery store chain that has been named as a defendant in a slip and fall lawsuit responded to interrogatories this week.

The plaintiff, 63-year-old Florence Brown, claims that she slipped and fell  in a puddle of water at the Port Arthur H.E.B. On that day, May 13, 2009, nobody had done anything to clean up the water or alert customers of the danger that it posed. However, H.E.B. did not take the suit lightly and filed a certificate of discovery on March 18. It answered the questions of her legal team and produced any evidence that contained to the case.

Brown hopes to collect damages for past and future mental anguish as a result of the slip and fall accident, as well as impairment and disfigurement, and medical expenses.
