Nursing Home Accused of Medication Errors

Medication errors are just another disturbing find at a Chicago nursing facility that cares for disabled children and young adults.

According to Equip for Equality, a federally-backed watchdog group, there have been at least five more deaths at Alden Village North. That makes for a total of eight deaths since 2008 that have been identified.  They believe that there are many problems at this facility, including lab results being ignored, incomplete or inaccurate internal investigations and failure of doctors to return pages.

Before this report came out, the state had already moved to close the facility since allegations were published in the Tribune earlier this year. Now that Equip has released their own report, funded by Congress to protect people with disabilities, it seems inevitable that Alden will be forced to close its doors.

Do you suspect that someone you love has suffered from medication errors? If so, now is the time to discuss your concerns with a personal injury lawyer.
