Phoenix PD Seek Second Suspect in Shooting Incident
By Knowles Law Firm October 23, 2013
Police officers recently arrested one man suspected of being connected to a fatal shooting that occurred earlier in September. A second suspect is still being sought by authorities. R.C. is accused of being one of two men who shot at a pedestrian couple. According to police reports, a man and his girlfriend were walking on 48th Street when a pair of men coming towards the couple from the opposite direction confronted the boyfriend. One of the men pulled out a gun and fired it causing fatal injuries to the boyfriend. The two then fled the scene. The girlfriend told authorities that her boyfriend and the two men said very little to each other and that there was no fight. Reports do not indicate if the men knew the woman's boyfriend or if it was an attempted robbery. The woman was able to give a description of one of the men but not the other. The description presumably led to the arrest of R.C. Get the help of a tough criminal defense lawyer right away if you have been suspected of or charged with murder.
About Murder and Manslaughter Charges
Murder is one of the most serious charges there is. The charge of murder differs from manslaughter based on the intentions of the person accused as well as other circumstances. They are both criminal offenses but manslaughter is a lesser charge brought about when one person kills another without any planning or malice aforethought. Murder charges are assessed when authorities or the prosecution has alleged evidence that the killing was intentional or planned. A manslaughter conviction can mean many years in prison while murder may result in a life sentence or even the death penalty. It is absolutely crucial that you have a legal representative on your side that will aggressively and effectively defend you if you have been charged with either of these serious offenses!
