Colorado Springs Man Arrested for Weapons Offense
By Clawson & Clawson LLP October 23, 2013
Colorado Springs police were called to a neighborhood after receiving a morning complaint that a man was firing a gun in his yard. The complaint stated that the man came out of his house, fired the gun and then went back inside. There was no information regarding how many shots he allegedly fired or what—if anything—was the target. Officers arrived and attempted to question the man but he reportedly wouldn't come out of his home. Local schools were placed on lock-down just in case and the area close to the suspect's home was blocked off. Neighbors were advised to remain in their homes until the incident was resolved. A police robot was sent in to the home to survey the situation and the man allegedly fired many shots at it while continuing to refuse to follow officers' instructions. At around 11:45 a.m. officers deployed flash-bang devices and sent in a police K9. The dog was able to subdue the man and police were able to take him into custody without further incident.
