On Sunday, August 4, pedestrians were injured in two separate accidents in the Portland area. In one incident, a pedestrian was hit by a motorcyclist in the southeast area of the city. In that incident, it is believed the pedestrian was drunk; he was seen staggering into the street just prior to the accident and it was stated that he had stopped to lie down by the side of the road. The motorist in the incident was not charged with any violations at the scene.
