An early morning accident resulted in the hospitalization of a woman after a collision caused her vehicle to rollover. The wreck happened around 6:00 a.m. when the victim was travelling west on Northeast Marine Drive along the Columbia River. A car going east on the two-lane road drifted over the center line and sideswiped the victim's car. The victim lost control of her car after the impact and veered to the right towards the river. The car rolled over several times down the embankment before coming to a rest on the bike path. Luckily, the car did not end up in the water. The driver of the car that drifted over the center line remained on the scene and called emergency services. Portland Police and paramedics arrived whereupon the driver of the car that rolled over was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Initial reports from investigators state that neither intoxication nor distracted driving is thought to be a factor.
