The manufacturer of a series of blood pressure medications has issued a recall for greater than five million samples that had been issued to physicians. Novartis AG has recalled samples of their blood pressure medications Exforge, Exforge HCT, Tekturna, Tekturna HCT, Diovan and other medications meant to treat high cholesterol and Parkinson's disease symptoms. The recall primarily affects the blood pressure drugs. It was found that over 100 lots of the samples had been contaminated by ink from the packaging on the drugs. Reports did not indicate how many people may have been affected by the contaminated samples since there are not detailed records of how many of the samples were distributed by physicians to patients. Novartis AG initiated the recall voluntarily in accordance with Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations. Reports did not state if the recall was prompted by any instances of illness associated with the tainted drugs. The recalled samples lots originated from manufacturing plants in New York, Germany and Switzerland. If you became ill or were otherwise injured after taking prescription drugs then get the help of a personal injury lawyer to ensure the liable party is held responsible for all damages you have suffered as a result of negligence.
About Dangerous Drugs Claims
There are a variety of incidents which may be valid grounds for making a dangerous drug claim. This can include insufficient warnings, interactions with other drugs or insufficient directions for use which result in severe illness. Some cases may require extensive recovery periods or a full recovery may not be possible in certain instances. The company responsible for the injuries should be held accountable for their product and you may be able to obtain compensation for lost wages, pain, medical costs and more.
