Everyday people in Southern California are injured riding a motorcycle. According to the latest date released by the California Highway Patrol, Los Angeles saw a 49% spike in motorbike accidents between 2003 - 2012. In contrast, motorcycle accidents were down almost 7% nationwide for the same period of time.
While the dangers from riding a motorcycle are well-known, sometimes people forget the things they can do to minize their risk. For starters, always wear a helmet when riding a motorcycle. That's the most important thing you can do to protect yourself from long-term injury or death. Second, make sure you wear the proper protective gear.
If you're driving a car, always make sure you keep enough distance between you and the motorcyclists. Most accidents between cars and motorcyclists occur because the driver simply didn't keep the bike rider in mind.
