Pedestrian, Rider injured in Motorcycle Crash Allegedly Caused by Police

An injury accident involving a teen and an elderly pedestrian is being investigated by authorities. The crash happened on a recent Sunday evening when several teens were riding dirt bikes. Witnesses state that a police cruiser was chasing the bikers and rammed into the back tire of one of the motorcycles. The impact caused the rider to lose control of his bike and careen onto the sidewalk where an elderly man was walking. The man was hit in the leg by the bike and the teen operating the dirt bike was thrown off. The teen suffered a serious head injury from the crash. Paramedics arrived on the scene and transported both of the injured individuals to a nearby hospital. The hospital stated that the elderly man and the teen were both in serious but stable condition. No citations have been issued at this time and there were no reports stating why the officer in the police cruiser was allegedly chasing the group of dirt bikers.
