People Accused of Staging Fake Auto Accidents

News sources say that several people decided to work together to stage fake car accidents in order to collect insurance money. While they went undetected for months, the North Carolina Department of Insurance was able to gather enough evidence to support arrest warrants for ten people.

Altogether, this group of criminals was able to collect $44,000 last year. By planning fake accidents, they worked together to defraud state insurance companies. Only one of their claims was reported to have been denied.

Police are now searching for two more suspects that are believed to have contributed to the insurance fraud ring. When they are captured, they will also be charged with one count of insurance fraud, conspiracy, obtaining property by false pretenses.

When you are injured in a car accident, the last thing you want to do is argue with your insurance company. Instead of dealing with matters on your own, take the time to work with a personal injury lawyer in your city.
