Dog Held at Animal Shelter Following Bite Incident

A young boy attacked by a dog suffered serious injuries last weekend.

Officers were called to the scene of the dog bite around 6:30 p.m. The young boy had been playing with the dog outside of his home when it started to bite him. It had accompanied the boy's friend, who was unable to control the canine. Although the young boy attempted to stop the dog by kicking him, the dog was able to cause serious injuries to his leg and arm.

The boy was quickly transported to a local medical facility for further treatment. As for the canine, he is being held at an animal shelter until the investigation has been concluded.
