Truck Accident Halts Metro Blue Line Trains

In Los Angeles, it is reported that Metro Blue Line tracks were temporarily blocked on Friday morning. The tracks had to be shut down while firefighters worked to save a woman that was trapped in a car that had collided with a big rig truck. After the truck accident, the woman became immobile in her vehicle.
The Los Angeles Fire Department reported that the accident took place at 48th and Long Beach Avenue at approximately 7:00 AM. At this time, the woman's condition remains unknown.
Firefighters worked vigorously to free the woman from her vehicle while it was pinned beneath the cab of the big-rig. Blue Line trains were delayed for 40 minutes as crews worked and buses were used to shuttle train passengers. Officials say that they are not sure what caused the collision and investigations are expected to continue.
