Misdiagnosis Lawsuit Filed Against Long Island Hospital & Doctors

The husband of a woman who died after a brain hemorrhage was misdiagnosed has filed a
wrongful death lawsuit against the Long Island hospital and doctors who treated her.
Roger Fudge, Jr. is claiming that Long Island Jewish/Plainview Hospital and three of its doctors failed to properly diagnose his wife Melissa's brain hemorrhage, a
misdiagnosis that ultimately led to her death.
According to the lawsuit, Melissa was admitted to the hospital after vomiting and complaining of gastrointestinal pain, as well as a painful headache and shooting pain in her left eye. Roger Fudge claims the doctors knew about Melissa's history of ulcerative colitis and assumed that was the problem, even though the treatment they were providing was ineffective.
Roger Fudge said the doctors got "tunnel-visioned on the colitis."
The family is seeking an unspecified amount in damages from the hospital and the three doctors.
