A Bronx woman is suing her landlord for damages after she found rat bites on her young daughter's legs.
Jonnique McKinney claims she had made complaints to her landlord about mice and rats in her apartment since moving into the apartment in July 2007. Although an exterminator came and plugged up her radiator with wool, it did not stop the rats from coming into the apartment and biting her daughter.
After noticing multiple rat bites on her 2-year-old daughter's legs, McKinney took her daughter to the hospital where doctors and nurses verified that the bites on her legs were indeed rat bites.
McKinney is suing her landlord, Claremont Park LLC, for an unspecified amount in damages for failing to properly address the situation. It was recently discovered that the landlord is now suing Dependable Exterminating, the company hired to exterminate the rats from McKinney's apartment.
