In San Antonio, a mother is claiming that she is wrongly being targeted by the father of her grandchildren. The mother, who lost her daughter and two granddaughters in a lethal
car accident says she is now the target of a major lawsuit that was recently filed by her grandchildren's father.
The father says that he is only trying to gain control of the estate that belonged to the mother of his children. However, relatives close to the parties involved say that the father had not been involved in the children's lives for many years.
In September, Cynthia Maria Garcia and her 6 and 9 year old daughters died in a catastrophic auto accident. It is reported that the accident occurred after Garcia pulled in front of a county waste truck. Now the children's father has decided to take legal action against the family because he feels the accident could have been prevented and that his children were
wrongfully killed.
The lawsuit was filed in civil court and it targets Allied Waste Company and the driver of the waste truck. The lawsuit is also listing Carmen Huron, Garcia's mother, because the petitioner wants to gain control of Garcia's estate.
Carmen Huron is contesting the lawsuit as she claims that the father's involvement in the lives of her daughter and granddaughters has been minimal and that she was responsible for the funeral expenses after the accident. Huron said, "He never called them for their birthday, he was never there for them."
Huron has also said that the lawsuit has led to much stress for her family, who only wishes to focus on recovering from their very tragic loss.
