Collision Causes Several Serious Injuries

A Sedan carrying a group of 4 female Somali was involved in a calamitous car accident, leading to all four being hospitalized. Police reported the violent crash occurred in the Central District in Seattle, at the intersection of South Main Street and 20 ^th Avenue S. The Sedan carrying the women was impacted twice during the incident, the first time by a DirecTV van, which then sent it spinning into the path of an approaching minivan. The intersection has no lights, nor any stop signs, which possibly contributed to the collision.

Two older women, as well as a seven-year old girl, were seriously wounded inside the vehicle. The youngest occupant, a child of three, was ejected from the van by the force of the crash while still in her safety seat. According to several witnesses, the DirecTV van was driving far too fast for the residential area.
