San Diego Bakery Patron Injured In Automobile Accident

Collision Send Car Off Street And Into Building, Injuring Occupant

A man was given treatment of his wounds by paramedics after a car crashed into the bakery at which he was shopping. The El Cajon establishment was not seriously damaged, nor were any of the vehicles' occupants hurt in the accident.

Reporters with NBC 7 San Diego spoke with witnesses of the accident, who said they were surprised by the relative lack of injury given the violence of the collision. The details of the incident can be gleaned from a police report filed by El Cajon law enforcement officials in the aftermath of the car accident. The drivers involved in the collision were traveling along Fletcher Parkway on Thursday, August 23^rd.

Upon reaching the 2300 block, the two vehicles, a truck and a Toyota Camry, slammed into each other at high speed at approximately 4:00 in the afternoon. According to eyewitness reports, the police document said, the Camry ricocheted off of the larger vehicle, spinning out of control and going off the road. The Camry continued onto the curb before striking the nearby Flour Power Cakery and coming to a halt.

Driver And Baby Remain Unharmed In Crash

Despite a violent collision and the resulting crash into a building, neither the driver of the truck nor the occupants of the Camry were hurt in the incident. The female driver of the Camry was reportedly traveling with her infant child, avoiding a potential tragedy. The only victim was a male patron of the bakery, who sustained moderate injury and had to be given care by Medics.

Police say they are still investigating the accident, and details remain few. It is unclear at this time who is at fault for the collision, and no charge have yet been filed. Police say they do not know if alcohol or drugs may have been a factor. The status of the injured man is currently unknown as well.
