In Aurora, TX, a Texas state senator Suzanne Williams swerved her vehicle into oncoming traffic on a Texas highway, which caused a head-on-collision with an oncoming vehicle, leaving a pregnant woman dead and her baby in critical condition.
The horrific car accident occurred around 5:30 p.m. when William's 2010 Honda CRV was travelling northbound on the U.S. 385. William's swerved into southbound traffic for an unknown reason according to information released by the Texas Department of Public Safety. The Honda CRV crashed into a 2003 GMC Yukon which was driven by Eric James Gomez, an assistant high school football coach. The two vehicles collided head-on, in the middle of the road. The GMC landed on its driver's side while William's CRV came to a stop on the southbound shoulder. The occupants of both vehicles were rushed to Northwest Texas Hospital.
William's son, 41 and her grandchildren ages 3, and 7, were all ejected from the vehicle during the collision, and are now in stable condition. Eric Gomez and his two daughters, ages 6 and 4, were treated and released from the hospital. Brianna Michelle Gomez, age 30, died as a result of head injuries. An emergency c-section had to be performed on her unborn son, who is listed in critical condition.
