While heart disease, cancer and stroke may be America's leading causes of death, innocent people die in some of the most wild and bizarre accidents on Earth. In many cases these wrongful deaths happen in the workplace where victims assume their employers have taken the proper precautions in order to prevent injuries from taking place, other times these bizarre deaths happen out of negligence, lack of common sense or out of being at the wrong place at the wrong time.
- Kenji Urada (1981). According to Wikipedia: "One of the first individuals killed by a robot, Urada was a 37-year old maintenance engineer at a Japanese Kawasaki plant. While working on a broken robot, he failed to turn it off completely, resulting in the robot pushing him into a grinding machine with its hydraulic arm. He died as a result."
- Doug McKay (2003). "Doug McKay was killed at the Island County fair amusement park when his arm was caught as he sprayed lubricant on a Super Loop 2 circular roller coaster. The ride was in operation at the time and he was pulled 40 feet in the air before falling and landing on a fence." -Wikipedia
- A male worker died at the Eraso soup factory in Germany after climbing into a soup cauldron in order to clean it. The cauldron's lid shut closed as the man was still inside; it began to fill with steam for the disinfection process and in effect cooked the man to death.
- Diana Durre, of Nebraska. Diana parked her truck under a large 75' Taco Bell sign. She had apparently parked there because she arranged to meet a couple in order to sell them some puppies. She told them, "Meet me underneath the big Taco Bell sign." It happened to be a particularly windy day and as she was parked under the sign, the sign fell on the cab of her truck, killing her.
