Bicycle Rider Faces Life Threatening Injuries after Struck by Car

Fort Lauderdale Police are asking for the public's help in the investigation of a severe car versus bicycle accident that occurred in early May. The victim, a 40-year-old cyclist remains in critical condition with unspecified injures after the incident. Witness information was requested in order to help determine exactly how the accident happened. A.A. was traveling by bicycle on Northwest 24^th Avenue just before 9:40 at night. He was struck by a driver in a gold compact sedan. Fire Rescue officials arrived quickly and took the victim to the Broward Health Medical Center where he was treated for life threatening injuries. Reports do not specify if the driver of the vehicle left the scene or if authorities are simply trying to more definitively determine what error may have led to the serious incident.
