Man Dies In Long Beach Car Accident

No Charges Yet In Pedestrian Death

A life was lost in a tragic automotive accident last February, reports the Press-Telegram.

According to the police report, the collision occurred on Saturday, February 20^th, at approximately 5:05 p.m. The victim was said to be a 61-year old Long Beach resident named Lawrence Henderson. Henderson was walking west on Paramount Boulevard at the time of the accident. Police spokesperson Lisa Massacani informed reporters that he was attempting to cross the street when he was struck by a 1989 Toyota Camry traveling south on Paramount.

When the emergency responders, including multiple police officers and firefighters, arrived at the scene, they discovered Henderson lying on the ground suffering from multiple serious injuries, Massacani reportedly stated. He was rushed to a local hospital, but his wounds were too severe, and the man died from his injuries shortly after arrival.

The identity of the Camry’s driver has not been officially released by law enforcement officers, who are still investigating the incident. It is known that she is a 34-year old Long Beach woman. According to the police report, she was cited for driving without proof of car insurance, though she was released from police custody shortly thereafter. No charges have yet been filed, though this may change pending further investigation.

Investigators do not believe that drugs or alcohol were involved in the incident.
