A workplace accident at the site of the old World Trade Center caused quite a scare last week. While nobody was injured, early reports had at least one fatality listed when a large piece of steel fell down. Last week a worker operating a crane experienced a mechanical malfunction. The crane dropped a load of steel nearly 40 feet below. It hit a parked truck that luckily had nobody inside. Not knowing what had happened, however, workers started to panic and leave the sight in droves.
A few hours later, the confusion was cleared up. While the crane driver suffered minor injuries, nobody else was injured in the workplace accident. The operator refused medical attention and is working with local officials to determine the cause of the accident. If you have recently been injured in a workplace accident, there is no time to waste in seeking legal counsel so you can learn more about workers' compensation.
