A young man killed in a motorcycle accident was scheduled to be deployed to Afghanistan in just a few weeks. Even though he was wearing a helmet at the time, he passed away from massive internal injuries. The victim, 32-year-old E.G. Jr., was a sergeant in the army. He had served several tours of duty in Afghanistan and Iraq. The police report shows that he was riding his motorcycle near his base in North Carolina when a pickup truck pulled out in front of him. He was unable to swerve away in time and drove into the truck. EMTs rushed him to the hospital where he died shortly after.
