Learning how to drive can be a thrill for many teenagers. However, the excitement of getting behind the wheel and driving too fast can lead to fatal car accidents. One such accident happened last weekend in North Carolina and took the life of a young boy. By the time that police and EMTs arrived on the scene, the 17-year-old high school student was dead. Police determined that the driver, a 17-year-old boy, was driving his pickup truck at high speeds when he lost control. He swerved and went into a ditch, causing the vehicle to overturn several times. The victim was not wearing a seatbelt and was thrown out of the car. He has since been charged with vehicular manslaughter and reckless driving.
Three more passengers were brought to area hospitals with serious injuries. The victims range in age from 15 to 17 years old. Only one person is believed to have been wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident. If you or someone you love was hurt during a serious auto accident, take the time to discuss your legal options with an experienced
personal injury lawyer.
