Police were called to the scene of a car accident that led to the hospitalization of one man. However, hundreds more were affected as a result of the accident which took out a power line. According to the police report, the driver became distracted at some point while reaching onto the floorboards for a fallen object. He didn't realize that his car was drifting off the road until it was too late. His vehicle flipped over and hit a power pole. News sources say that a second vehicle also struck the pole.
Fire and rescue crews were needed to extricate the driver from the mangled wreckage. Luckily he did not sustain any serious injuries in the car accident. The second driver was also uninjured, but was forced to remain in his vehicle until the power had been shut off completely. An estimated 1,000 homes were without power for several hours. The power company was able to restore electricity to all but 144 homes by the end of the day. Injured during a car accident? Now is the right time to work with a personal injury lawyer in your area!
