Workplace Accident Reported at Airport

A workplace accident at one airport nearly took the life of a long-time employee.

The man was working in the north cargo facility when a portion of the structure collapsed. He was pinned under something and had to be extricated by emergency medical crews. Once he was released from his position, the man was transported by medical helicopter to a nearby hospital.

At this time, the workplace accident is still under investigation. As with any incident that occurs on the job, a representative from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration will be called to the scene of the accident. This individual is responsible for assessing the safety of future working conditions to protect other employees from being hurt.
