Community Mourns Loss of Officer

A police department and community mourns the loss of an off-duty officer who lost his life last week on the freeway.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the 48-year-old victim was a detective who had worked for the department for many years. He was riding his personal motorcycle near the freeway overpass when he was struck by a truck. While it is known that he lost his life on the scene, further details have yet to be released. At this time, it is unknown whether the truck driver will be charged in the death of the detective.
