2-Year-Old Hit by Car

A young boy is lucky to have his life after wandering away from his parents last week in east San Diego County.

Police reports show that the 2-year-old had been walking with his parents when he lost contact with them and wandered a short distance away before he was struck by a van. While he was being transported to a local hospital, officers spoke with the parents about the car accident. Several witnesses were able to describe the van that struck the boy, but local officials have yet been able to find the driver.

The latest reports show that the young boy sustained non-life-threatening injuries and is expected to make a full recovery.
