Tragic Car Accident Reported

A tragic car accident has resulted in the death of one man and the injuries of two of his family members. Police believe that the driver of the car responsible for the accident was under the influence of alcohol when he failed to stop at a flashing red light. The car sailed into the intersection shortly after a pickup truck which had stopped at the light entered the intersection. The car hit the truck, which was rolled and turned on its top from the impact.

The man in the front passenger seat was killed in the accident and his wife and sister were seriously injured. The two women were flown to the local hospital to have their injuries examined. The driver of the truck was not seriously injured. The driver of the car that caused the accident was also injured in the wreck and is being treated at a local hospital.

He has been charged with felony death by vehicle as well as felony serious injury by vehicle and driving while impaired. Police say that the man's blood alcohol tests are currently pending, but that they strongly suspect that the man was drunk at the time of the car accident.
