Two Accidents Cause Serious Delays

Two accidents that happened within moments of each other on a major highway caused serious delays last Monday morning.
The first accident involved a tractor trailer that had overturned between the off-ramps for two highways. According to the report completed by the North Carolina Highway Patrol, the truck was carrying 43,300 pounds of steel when the weight shifted in the truck. The movement caused the driver to lose control and the truck itself to turn on its side. Luckily, neither the driver nor his passenger, a 1-year-old Chihuahua, was seriously injured.
Just a few miles northeast, another accident involving two vehicles closed down the right southbound lane. Motorists were forced to seek alternate routes to avoid the traffic jam.
