Accident Occurs after Mother Gives Minors Alcohol

One mother in Hutto, Texas made a terrible error in judgment when she gave five minors alcohol.

The mother was sentenced to three years probation after plying her son's friends with alcohol.  According to police reports, she made 200 Jello shots for her son's friends to bring to a party. Five of these friends were involved in a drunk driving accident that caused them serious injury. The car, operated by a drunk minor, hit an utility pole on Texas 130.

One teen boy was sitting in the back seat. As a result of the crash, he suffered serious brain trauma. He is now blind and will need a cane to walk indefinitely. In court, the victims families were given a chance to speak to the defendant. One testimony, issued by the grandmother of a victim, was particularly heartbreaking: "You never once said sorry to any of us or showed remorse for what you did [...] Maybe God will forgive you, but I never will."
