Tragedy struck in Spartanburg, South Carolina last week when a young boy was killed in a miniature train accident.
Bennie Easler, 6, was riding the miniature train at Cleveland Park last weekend when it derailed, carrying him and 27 other passengers off the tracks. The driver of the train later admitted to police that he was driving the vehicle faster than the established safe speed. In addition mechanical problems with the miniature train had been hidden and falsified by the inspector.
Easler's family is now filing a lawsuit against the South Carolina Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation, as well as the parks commission of Spartanburg County. They are represented by attorney Tom Killoren.
