Wrongful Death Trial Continues This Week

The trial for the wrongful death of Ereck Plancher continues this week, as a new witness is brought to the stand.

This week the jury heard from Dr. Douglas Casa, Plancher's athletic trainer from the University of Connecticut. He answered several questions from both sides, such as whether he asked Plancher to do anything differently from other athletes on the field. The UFCAA believes that the heart condition that eventually led to Plancher's death on the field could have been prevented with the proper care.

It seems that questions have arisen regarding the safety of the UCF athletic department, with authorities such as Dr. Casa weighing in on the topic. He went on to say that "the University of Central Florida Athletic Association had in their specific policies and procedures that you should make modifications for people with sickle cell."
