Woman Trapped Under Vehicle after Collision

After rolling down Interstate 5, a woman was found trapped under her Ford Expedition last weekend.

According to Highway Patrol Sgt. Jeff Ross, he laid next to the victim, Danika Warfield, 30, until EMTs arrived on the scene. She had been ejected from the vehicle when its driver, Whitney N. Howard, lost control of the SUV. Police reports show that the vehicle went across the center divide, across the southbound lanes and wound up in a ditch.

Howard, 30, suffered just minor injuries while her passenger was transported by helicopter to Enloe Medical  Center. A hospital spokeswoman didn't give specific details about Warfield's injuries, only stating that she was in critical condition. There were two more passengers in the vehicle, both of whom sustained minor injuries.
