After spending 11 months recuperating at a medical facility, a teenager was welcomed home by hundreds of former classmates.
The graduate of a local high school was involved in a serious car accident that took the life of the driver, the school's cheerleading coach, along with three teenagers who were in the van. One of the victims was the girlfriend of the young man recently released from the hospital. The 19-year-old male suffered burns over 85 percent of his body in the August 9, 2010 car accident.
According to police reports, the driver of a SUV lost control of his vehicle, causing it to cross the center divider and hit the van carrying the student athletes. A passenger in the SUV, a 39-year-old male, lost his life in the accident as well.
