One Person Brought to Hospital Following Collision

Just one person was brought to the hospital after a multi-vehicle accident shit down Merritt Parkway in Westport last Sunday.

Connecticut State Police were the first officers on the scene of the accident that occurred around 1:50 p.m. Although they are still investigating the specifics of the accident, they did state that it happened in the northbound lanes between exits 42 and 44. Soon after the CSP arrived emergency personnel set to work examining the occupants of the other vehicles. They decided that one person needed further evaluation and transported him/her to Norwalk Hospital.

Although the left lane was shut down to protect the occupants of the vehicles and emergency responders, the right lane was opened up again for regular vehicular traffic. It only took the crews about one hour to clear the accident.
