Bus Hits Pedestrian in Atlanta

Another report of a bus driver injuring a pedestrian hits the news this week, this time in Atlanta. The driver of a Cobb Community Transit bus hit a woman as she was attempting to cross a street near the H.E. Holmes MARTA station.

Atlanta police have formally charged Jean Lewis in the pedestrian accident that has left Ruby Nell Rhodes without a right leg and a broken left ankle. The damages to her leg were so severe that doctors had to amputate it immediately upon Rhodes being transported to the hospital.

Police have brought two charges against Lewis at this time: one count of driver to exercise due care and one count of failure to yield to pedestrian in crosswalk.

Did you know that hundreds of pedestrian accidents happen every day across the United States? It's true. No matter how careful you are crossing the street there are drivers out there who are not being as safe as you are. When you become the victim of a pedestrian accident you need a skilled personal injury lawyer on your side.
