Train Hits Multiple People

Police are still working on the case of a vehicle that was struck by a train in Monroe County last week. Preliminary reports show that a 41-year-old woman drove her vehicle across train tracks when a southbound train struck her. The impact shot the car about 30 feet from the railroad tracks but not before the driver was thrown from the vehicle. Her body was found just a few feet from where her car stopped.
Although she did not survive the train accident, her 8-year-old daughter did. The young girl was brought to a nearby hospital and is reported to be in stable condition. While the investigation is still active at this time, police do not think that alcohol is to blame for the accident.
