Police Still Investigating Fatal Accident

Police are still investigating the car accident that took the life of an older woman last week in North Carolina. It is unclear why the woman drifted into oncoming truck, thus causing the fatal accident.

According to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, the 55-year-old woman was heading south on a local highway when she drifted into oncoming traffic. With no time to avoid the collision, she was struck head on by a pickup truck driven by a 49-year-old man.

The vehicle was forced into a ditch where it caught fire. By the time that emergency crews arrived on the scene, the woman had already died. Luckily, the driver of the pickup truck did not receive serious injuries.
