In Fresno, California, news sources in the area report that a motorcycle rider has died after a three vehicle accident. Investigators from the California Highway Patrol reported that the motorcycle driver and another car were stopped at a red light when the driver of the truck came up from behind and failed to stop. The motorcyclist was thrown from the bike upon impact and the truck continued to move forward, dragging the motorcycle hundreds of feet down the road.
Emergency response crews rushed the motorcyclist to Community Regional Medical Center via a helicopter. However, the biker later succumbed to his serious injuries. The driver of the other vehicle and the truck remained uninjured.
The California Highway Patrol has plans to continue investigating but has reported that drugs and alcohol were not involved in the truck accident.
