Father Jailed for Boat Accident that Killed his Daughter

In the state of Illinois, criminal charges have been filed against the father who was operating a boat that killed his teenage daughter this summer.

News sources say that 39 year old Eric Hazelwonder has been officially charged with two felony counts of operating a watercraft while under the influence of drugs and alcohol. The major boating accident took place on July 3^rd while Hazelwonder was on Lake Lou Yeager.

At the time of the accident, Hazelwonder's 15-year-old daughter, Haley Faye Hazelwonder, was in the lake wearing a life jacket when her father started the vessel.  The boat lurched forward unexpectedly and struck Hayley with its propellers.

Haley was rushed to St. Francis Hospital and pronounced dead a short time after her arrival.

At this time, her father is being held in jail in lieu of a $100,000 bond.
