Two People Suffer Injuries during Auto Accident

Two Arcata youths were injured in a car accident on U.S. highway 101 near Willits, according to the California Highway Patrol. 

The driver of the car, 19-year-old David Roman of Arcata, was driving his 2005 Scion TC at roughly 55 miles an hour on U.S. highway 101 when he drove off the side of the road after losing control of the vehicle.  The CHP stated that the vehicle came to rest on Schow Road, west of the 101, after rolling over several times.

The vehicle also contained three passengers, who were also injured in the car accident.  Axal Castillo, 19, of Arcata, Jessica Avila, 18, of San Diego, and Ronald Bowden, 17, of Los Angeles were transported to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital due to the extent of their injuries.  The crash resulted in minor injuries for Roman and he was brought to Frank R. Howard memorial Hospital in Willits for treatment.
