Notebook Battery Recall

Hewlett-Packard has added to its recall of lithium ion batteries for some of its HP and Compaq notebooks which will now include an additional 54,000 units. The company originally recalled 70,000 batteries in May 2009. Reportedly, the batteries can overheat and pose fire and burn hazards to the consumers. There have been a small number of reports where batteries have overheated and caused fires and some minor injuries.
