Jacksonville Naval Hospital Settles Malpractice Cases for $1 Million

Recently, two separate medical malpractice cases against Jacksonville Naval Hospital have settled.  Reports indicate that the cases settled for a total of $1 million.

In the first case, the government settled with Robert Jackson for $750,000.  While visiting the hospital's emergency room, he suffered a stroke from misdiagnosed appendicitis.  In the second case, the government settled with Lisa Ellis for $250,000.  Ellis claimed that she had developed a blood-clotting disorder after her hysterectomy was botched.

Unfortunately, medical malpractice is more prevalent than most would think.  When people are subjected to medical errors, misdiagnosis or negligence, their lives can change for the worse.

For this reason, those who have suffered at the hands of negligent medical professionals or facilities are strongly encouraged to discuss their cases with a personal injury attorney as soon as possible.  By working with a personal injury lawyer, people stand a chance of recovering damages for their medical bills, lost wages, injuries and pain and suffering.
