Mother Settles Lawsuit Involving Bus Accident that Injured Her Children

The mother of three children who were injured in a school bus accident has settled her lawsuit for an undisclosed amount.

Rhonda Arbuckle's children were riding in a school bus when a semitrailer truck rammed into the back of the bus, causing it to burst into flames. In the lawsuit, Arbuckle claims that her children, now 12, 15, and 17, suffered both physical injuries and mental anguish, and that the trucking company, Comtrak Logistics Inc., and the truck driver, Reinaldo Andujar-Gonzalez, acted negligently.

According to court papers, Arbuckle's youngest child, JaSena Humber, suffered slight brain damage, while the other two children are experiencing post-traumatic stress disorder.

Gonzalez apparently failed to brake before he rear ended the school bus, which was stopped on a four-lane highway. Andujar-Gonzalez has since been charged with vehicular homicide and reckless driving with serious injury.

Arbuckle filed her lawsuit against Comtrak, Andujar-Gonzalez, and Andujar Transport Inc.
