The National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration alongside baby gear manufacturer, Dorel Juvenile Group or DJG, has issued a product recall for certain models of its infant car restraint systems. Affected models have been estimated to number about 2,000.
The manufacturer has claims that models IC124FSM from the Onboard 35 Line and Comfy Carry's IC123FSM suffer from a manufacturing defect. Said units have been sold without the required separate base for the seat that housed the latch attachment. Infant car seat systems without this required safety feature are illegal according to certain Federal Motor Vehicle Standards.
Although no reports have yet been made on the injuries or damages arising from these defective units, Dorel Juvenile had said that without the said latch system, the affected models cannot be secured properly. In case of a car accident, your baby will not have adequate protection.
Doral Juvenile has further stated that the models which may have been sold from May last year up to April of this year will be replaced for free. These baby car seats join the growing list of products that the company has recalled, including two bassinets, an infant basket and several strollers in the past 18 months. Registered owners have been advised not to use the said products and may contact the company with any questions.

It is crucial to contact an experienced personal injury lawyer as soon as possible after an accident. The longer you wait, the more difficult it becomes to gather evidence.
