Testimony by executives with the company that was solicited to produce Michael Jackson's "This is It" show continued in the late musician's wrongful death suit. The suit was brought against AEG by Jackson's family who allege that execs hired Dr. Conrad Murray and his treatment led to Jackson's death. The highly publicized trial has been going on for several weeks already while the Jackson family's attorney presents his case against AEG. The attorney stated that he is about half way through with presenting his case and then the defense will present theirs. The suit against the production company contends that execs were aware of Jackson's previous history with sedative and painkiller drug use issues and yet hired and endorsed treatment by the doctor who administered powerful surgical sedatives to the performer. The family's lawyer stated, "They put fuel into the rocket, and then it took off, and he went downhill, and they knew that and took no action."
Jackson died on June 25th, 2009 in Los Angeles. He was found to have several sedatives in his system at the time of his death including Lorazepam and Propofol. Dr. Murray was found guilty of his role in Jackson's death and has been sentenced to serve four years in prison.
